ACS Tasmania would like to invite teachers and educators on the TASITE mailing list to morning tea from 10am on the 6^th June at Drysdale house where we will discuss mental health strategies for individuals and organisations.

Current research shows that both Tech workers and Education staff are experiencing high rates of burn out which can cause long term damage to individuals and workplaces.  One of the focus areas for the Tasmanian ACS branch is to encourage professionals in the Tech and Education sectors to manage their burnout and maintain their wellbeing.

At our morning tea event we will hear from our speakers Dr Rebecca Chabot, local mental health and wellness advocate and Founder of Pure Wellness Tasmania and Mathew Richman, Director of Wellbeing Support at the Department of Police, Fire and Emergency Management.

Dr Chabot will explore several practical strategies and techniques that will improve both physical and mental wellness, to reduce stress levels and improve resilience so participants become healthier, calmer and more focused both at home and in the workplace.

Following this, Mathew Richman will speak about the work that the Department of Police, Fire and Emergency Management’s Wellbeing Support Directorate does and what good policy looks like in a large organisation that experiences extreme stress amongst it`s 9200 employees.
